As the heat of summer wears on we focus our efforts on smallmouth and largemouth bass fishing. Maine has numerous lakes and rivers full of these hard fighting fish. Their willingness to take a fly or lure makes them ideal for the youngsters in your family. And it's fun! Give a local guide or sporting camp a call!
Hunting for ruffed grouse in Maine starts Saturday, the 26th of September. There is no Sunday hunting in Maine, but this gives you a day to fish before the season closes up north the first of October. Grand Lake stream has a special fishing season 1-25 October, and the East Outlet is open for fishing the entire month. Great time for a cast and blast! Hunt birds in the morning, and fish in the afternoon!
Every year, Umcolcus Sporting Camps will be offering a 5 day, 4 night canoeing trip on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. Our timeframe will be the second week of June. For 2021, that will be 7-12 June. We leave the 8th after an overnight stay at the camps, and drive to Umsaskis ranger station the next morning where we will begin our journey. We will return the on the 12th at mid-day. We are limiting this trip to 6 people, and we will have two guides to ensure you have a quality experience. Camp stay, camping fees, day usage fees, transportation, canoes, gear (except your personal gear) and all meals included. For more information and details, call us at 207-356-6773.
